So what comes next?
After the Party Ends
When you have that sort of massive success in your business, your first inclination is to celebrate, and celebrate you should!
You’ve built something with your own efforts that’s getting noticed, and has now achieved a great level of success.
Remember, you’ve accomplished what so many entrepreneurs never manage to do. Most walk away when the going gets tough, so you’re already ahead of the pack.
Even if you’re focused on staying humble, make sure to take it all in and savour the moment.
Those who have helped support you along the way are immensely proud of you, and you should be as well.
Then, once the dust settles, it’s time to get to work.
Making the Best of Success
While we make fun of goldfish for having short memories, ours aren’t much better!
A one-time success is great, and may stay top of mind for a few days, but unfortunately that doesn’t last.
Your current clients, and even your target clients, will quickly move on to other priorities in their lives and in their businesses.
It’s in our nature to be distracted by new and shiny things, and your success made you shiny, but that shine won’t last on its own.
Your job is to keep your business shining, and to make sure that your success was no fluke.
Otherwise those clients are only going to get distracted by a newer, shinier competitor.
How do you take advantage of this newfound attention, and put it to good use?
Tips for Staying on Top
Have a strategy. Your burst of success shouldn’t be a fluke; it should be part of a bigger picture. Think ahead before you announce that sale, or share that new piece of content, about how you’re going to follow it up. You’ll have an engaged audience at your fingertips – what you do with them is up to you.
Keep in touch! If you have something that gets shared around and suddenly you have new connections reaching out to you, don’t just say hello and walk away. Make those connections, and set up time to learn more about them so that in your mind you can assess how you can help. They already know a bit about you from engaging. Show them that you’re looking to be engaged as well.
Lastly, keep your foot on the gas. There’s no rest for the wicked, and there’s certainly no rest for an entrepreneur. The work is never done, and you never stop growing your business. If you think that you’re ‘too busy’ to market and promote your business, don’t worry, you won’t stay that way for long. Keep working hard, keep pivoting, keep engaging, and keep marketing your business. Growth and success are the result of that hard work.
It’s all about telling your story, and if storytelling is hard for you, I’m here to help make it easier. Reach out and let’s set up a time to connect.
